Installation of a smart counter at GPH Diffusion in Magescq

MITS PACK recently supported GPH Diffusion, based in Magescq, France, in strengthening its production capacity through the installation of a new 16-lane counter. The project is now completed and the machine has been operational in their production room since today.

A clear need: increase production and reduce rejects

GPH Diffusion was looking to improve its packaging performance while limiting losses related to fragile tablets. The objective was to increase production speed while reducing rejects caused by broken tablets.

A 16-lane counter equipped with “smart” technology

The solution provided is a 16-lane counter equipped with smart technology capable of identifying broken tablets and not counting the fragments. Even if a tablet is damaged, the machine automatically completes the exact count for each bottle. This innovation prevents counting errors, reduces rejects, and significantly improves productivity.

The machine reaches 90 cycles per minute with 60 tablets, adapts to all types of products without any format change, and has been customized to meet GPH Diffusion’s specific needs.

Project timeline

The project took place over a total period of five months, from the initial technical discussions to the start of production.

The key stages were as follows:

• On October 31, the GPH Diffusion team carried out the FAT in our workshop and showroom.

• On November 6 and 7, the machine was installed and commissioned directly at their production site.

This organization ensured thorough preparation, extensive testing, and a well-controlled installation.

Results and initial production runs

The machine is already in production and the operator completed her first two batches today. Initial feedback confirms a significant improvement in production capacity thanks to reduced rejects and the accuracy of the smart counting system.
